Place-making
Iro Tsavala is a senior Lecturer in Illustration BA at University for the Creative Arts, Farnham. She has taught at Wimbledon, University of the Arts London and has an MA in Communication Art & Design from the Royal College of Art.
The wider area in which she positions her research is ‘authorial illustration’, which sees the illustrator as an originator of content. One of her research interests investigates the diverse ways that narrative can be used, constructed and deconstructed within the parameters of the book.
Building on previous projects that included elements of walking as part of the work development, she is looking to further develop this aspect of her practice by connecting current observations with humanistic geography.
