Reviving Folktales: Illustration, Heritage, and Conservation in the South Downs
Kate Ducker is an illustrator and educator based in Lewes. She is Pathway Leader in Illustration at Brighton Met College and lectures in Illustration for Communication at Ravensbourne University. Additionally, she co-directs F.A.T. Studio, a Community Interest Company focused on promoting inclusivity in London’s creative industry through community-driven projects. Kate’s practice explores themes surrounding what it means to be human and the role of illustration in social contexts. Recently, she has used illustration to document processes and capture meaningful moments in communal workshops and educational settings. She has worked with organisations such as The House of Illustration, Kew Gardens, The South Downs National Park Association, and Flatlands Projects.
