How can we use illustration to represent remembered and re-imagined places and the sense of belonging?
Tonka Uzu (aka Antoaneta Ouzounova) is an author-illustrator and art educator based in Cambridge. She is interested in autobiographical creativity, the sense of belonging and place, and has a passion for drawing people. Her illustrations have been exhibited internationally and her books have been published in Italian, English and Korean language. Tonka holds a BA Hons in Art History from the University of Bologna and an MA from the Children’s Book Illustration MA at Anglia Ruskin University, where she is Associate Lecturer. Tonka is artist facilitator with Cambridge Curiosity and Imagination and collaborates with the Flying Carpet Festival, NIE theatre, East Anglian Storytelling Festival, museums, libraries and schools.
